In order to be considered you must:
- Be passionate about animals and have experience in pet care. Be physically capable of walking a variety of breeds and size dogs
- Be willing to walk in all kinds of weather (not downpours or thunderstorms)
- Pass a professional background /criminal check
- Be able to work weekends & Holidays!!!!!!!!!!
- Be extremely reliable, trustworthy and respectful and flexible
- Own a reliable & insured vehicle, and have a valid drivers license
- Have a cell phone & daily access to the internet , a computer & printer
- Have excellent references( work related and personal)
- Be able to spell, read, and listen
- Have excellent organizational, time management skills, and have lots of common sense
- Have excellent customer service and English communication skills (written and spoken) in order to follow detailed client instructions
- Like being outdoors and walking
- Be a team player with a positive attitude
- Be able to work independently
- Must be at least 21 years of age
We are looking for those with pet care experience and those who currently work as Pet Sitters for other pet sitting companies or have their own pet sitting business.
Job not suited for those:
- Looking for a temporary job in the meantime
- Looking for "I'll just try it out and see if I like it."
- Currently working full-time
- Moving soon or just moved into the area "just looking for something in the meantime."
- Who are unwilling to work some Holidays and weekends.
- Who need 40 hours (full-time) employment
- Who must have a specific amount of income to survive
- You are only available a few hours here and there
We are currently hiring for the following positions:
Mid-day dog walkers:
You would be assigned to walk dogs in a geographic area within 5-10 miles from your home, while owners are at work. Generally walks are between the hours of 11:00 am–3:00 am, based on the client’s booking schedule. Walks are NOT scheduled on federal holidays or weekends, but some clients may require services on those dates. You must be available Monday–Friday between the hours above to be considered.
For the mid-day walk positions, we may be able to utilize individuals who are only available mid-day.
Pet Sitter for Vacation/Business travelers:
As a pet sitter you would provide pet care visits to clients home 1-3 times a day to walk, or feed the pets of those traveling for business or vacation. On an average most dog owning clients require 2-3 dog visits a day, and cat clients require 1-2 visits a day. These visits will usually consist of several days in a row, typically in the morning (before 8:00 am), sometimes midday (between 12:00 pm–2:30 pm and evening (between 5:00 pm and 9:00 pm). Sitters will be caring for designated client's pets for the entire pet sitting engagement they accept.
You would need to be available for morning, afternoon and evening visits.
Providing overnight pet sits is a plus, but not necessary (see description, below).
Overnight/ House Sitters:
Some clients prefer for their pet to have someone stay over-night with them in their own home. Sitter must be available to stay in the client's home a minimum of 10 hours in the eve anywhere from 6 pm or 8 pm to 6 am or 8 am, hours are flexible. Assignment can last from 2 nights to 2 weeks.
We can utilize individuals that are available only in the evenings.
Overnight sitters cannot be accompanied by a pet, child or other individuals.

Dog Bed and Breakfast Caretakers
Welcome a dog into your home be paid for it and have their company!
We are interviewing for potential Caretakers for our clients dogs. We place one or 2 dogs in your home to be cared for by you while their parents are on vacation or a business trip. If you are willing to treat dogs as family members, with plenty of love and individual attention, and want to see if you qualify, then check some of the guidelines below. Each Caretaker will set the guidelines for what size, age and type of dog will fit well into their home. We will then carefully screen our Caretakers and match the dog with the home that is best suited for both involved.
You will be able to meet each dog before a reservation is confirmed, so you know that the dogs staying with you will be a good fit. See below if you may be able to join our network of Professional Caretakers.
We offer clients peace of mind so Caretakers must take their responsibilities seriously!
You must fit all of the following criteria to be considered you:
- "Must love dogs", and all those who live in your household also.
- Have no small children at home.
- Are all non-smokers.
- Own your own home, or have permission from the landlord.
- Do not travel often.
- Have a clean, well-kept home.
- Have voice mail, a computer with email that allows incoming calls while connected to the internet.
- Must be able to provide business and personal references.
- Have cared for a dog or cat at some point of your life.
- Must be physically capable of walking the dogs and enjoy exercising.
- Do not work full-time away from the home and are at home most of the day.
- Have excellent and organizational skills.
- Have a neat and clean, fenced yard without holes and missing planks.
- Would maintain the dog yard without pesticides/herbicides and rubber mulch or poisonous plants.
- Must not have hostile neighbors that don't like dogs
Families, couples, retirees and singles, (no roommates, please) are all welcomed to apply. We especially welcome mature, established adults who have been in the workforce for five years or longer. Persons who have experience with animals (personally or professionally) are particularly encouraged to apply. This is a part-time job offering and therefore should not be your primary source of income. We are not looking for seasonal or weekend-only Caretakers.
